Prepare a useful shortlist by checking the substrate type, product version, intended use and manufacturer's instructions.
Identify the exact product
Record the manufacturer, full product name, package size and product version. A nutrient range can include several products with different purposes. Likewise, similar substrate names may describe different mixtures. Match the label on the item you are ordering to its current manufacturer documentation.
Read compatibility before choosing extras
Check which substrate or system the manufacturer describes for the product. Read the intended use and any restrictions on combining products. Do not assume that products from different ranges can be mixed simply because their descriptions sound similar. When compatibility is unclear, ask the manufacturer or our team for the relevant documentation.
Plan storage and handling
Read the storage conditions, handling precautions and any expiry or batch information. Keep products in their labelled original packaging and follow the manufacturer's safety instructions. Order a package size that suits your needs and available storage, rather than comparing only the headline price.
